In 2007 Jim Zinger was part of the Annual Alcatraz Swim. He is an experienced long-distance swimmer and swims in many different countries and environments to challenge his latest invention Swimmer Buddy that keeps swimmers safe. Jim practices what he teaches and applies it to his excellent swimming performance. Long-distance swimmers often swim 100 yards away from the shore. This applies to sea, lake, and river swimmers. Most swimmers swim with a simple red-cap and with a buddy; however, this does not make them visible enough. When you are in the open water, boats, small yachts, jet skis, motorboats, etc... can barely see their way through the waters due to the radiant light of the sun, wind, and low light. Therefore, when a swimmer is on the open water he can easily be run over! Worst of all is that no one would know his location and condition. Swimmer Buddy keeps swimmers safe!
